With so many posts of those beautiful autumn hues,
thought I’d toss in a little something different and take you back to the Oregon coast!
Prior to the trip I was beyond thrilled reading all about the tide pools and couldn’t wait to see with my own eyes all those beautiful little sea creatures. Since tide pools are created when the tide goes out it seemed pretty simple just to look up the low tide times and show up. Right? Well…not so much. During the week we were at the coast, the low tide was happening in the middle of the night (nope, not going out then!) or right in the middle of the day. Well unfortunately the low tide during the day wasn’t low enough. Bottom line? Spending time and photographing the tide pools was a big bust. But, I did get to see a couple anemone creatures and a dead baby starfish, but that was about it. Reason to return, right?
But what I did get to see were plenty of other things that washed up…
And then there were those little treasures that made it home with me…
(sharing a few)
including that adorable dead baby starfish above.
And there were those amazing abstract sand and light creations…
And when this is the canvas…there’s so many possibilities…
~~~
total euphoria.
Beach is so soulful. The sound of the waves, the smell, the ever changing sand, the little things we find. Amazing pictures of the anemones, we only see those in the zoo….
The starfish brought back many memories, as a kid I saw them a lot and BIG…. now they are almost all gone and rare on our beach.
Thank you indeed for sharing these incredible pictures. I would not mind a walk at the beach now……
Love and hugs.
Your blog title says it all. And what an emotion, euphoria, in images that convey such deep appreciation for the act of seeing and being in that place. I”m so glad you didn’t let the less than perfect timing to the low tides deter you – there’s always a picture to be made. Love the shadows and calm mood of these images, especially in contrast to the roar and action of the sea.
You nailed it Donna…”the contrast to the roar and action of the sea” is perfect. Thank you so much!
I am so completely enamored by your fascinating captures of the Oregon coast. Who knew? Certainly not I!
I agree with Donna and am so glad the perfect time of low tide did not deter you.
I don’t think you could have done a better job. The lighting, textures, natures ripples in the sand, the anemone creatures, starfish, the contrasts of the tide and texture of the sand – oh, so beautiful.
There is no perfect time. You create the perfect capture no matter what challenges you feel you face. No one would ever guess. I could just imagine the ones you reject on the cutting floor. I bet they are priceless.
You never cease to amaze me with what you share.
Thank you so much.
Lots of love.
XOXO
LOL! I reject plenty! But, I have gotten better at that…I look back at my history and many times I would take hundreds and hundreds of photos…but with more experience I’ve gotten pickier and take more time. It’s all a learning process for sure! Thank you always Lisa for your kindness! xoxo!
