It’s true…all we need is love…
but darn…a little chocolate and a nice glass of red wine sure doesn’t hurt either!
♥♥♥
To all my family…
and friends…
I hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day weekend!

Background on the image…in a little Colorado town…it was such a sweet surprise to find this heart in-between these two trees on a street where most of the houses were very run down or in many cases vacant…everything and everybody deserves a little love…

What a cute and freaky find in a rundown town. On the branch on the right in the photo, I see what looks like two eyes and a mouth open wide looking at the heart. I love these things you come across in your daily life and share with us. You find and bring such pleasure to an ordinary day by just observing what’s in your mind’s eye, capturing and sharing. Thank you so much.
Happy Valentine’s Day to you, too my Dear, Dear Robin.
Love you to pieces!

Thank you Lisa! Yes, I also look for special images and see exactly what you’re seeing! I hope your weekend was wonderful too! xo

You are so right, of course, dear Robin. It’s funny that I published a post yesterday and never even once remembered that it was Valentine’s Day. And that just about tells you everything you need to know about the day here in the Netherlands. Many do celebrate it here because the tradition has become commercialized from American influence. But don’t get Astrid started on things like that from America! It’s fine with me that we don’t celebrate it…though I did buy some heart-shaped gevulde koek (filled with almond paste, wich I love) this week, just to say I did it…and Astrid loved the gesture. 🙂

Just like every occasion here in the U.S…it’s always overblown with commercialism…so be thankful it hasn’t completely taken over the Netherlands YET! Oh my…the sounds of a gaveled kook…sinful as my day would say! xo

Love the bright colored, silky foo foo contrast against the rough solidity of the tree. A good analogy of enduring relationships. I also like the thought of chocolate with a wine accompaniment…

So true Maery! Thanks for your visit!

This is my idea of the perfect Valentine – a sweet and simple discovery – and the chance to reflect on love and appreciate those who we love and love us back. So glad you made this picture and recognized its significance in the place it was found. Love to you, Robin.
