A regular at Smalls Jazz Club? Not hardly…but definitely a huge fan. An adorable little basement jazz venue, appropriately named Smalls, on 10th Street in Greenwich Village where the acquaintance was made of one special pianist, composer and music educator….Kevin Harris.
We originally met Kevin sitting at the bar…just having a beer and started chatting away. Kevin shared a cd from his new release – The Kevin Harris Project along with information about his upcoming performance at Smalls. Well that was all it took for a return visit to hear Kevin live! Wow, his fingers just glide across the piano keys and he has an amazing connection with his audience, as well as his band members. There’s no doubt this guy is gifted and there’s definitely something special about him, really something special.
The rest of the crew…Francisco Mela/drums, Godwin Louis/sax and Kendall Eddy/bass
and oh my…what talent from these three.
Such a great performance and venue and if you’re a jazz lover you gotta check this place out!

It’s a must on your list! Thanks Mary!
If anyone can find a goldmine, Robin, it’s YOU. You could be his marketer. 🙂
