One of my favorite things to do in any city is just walk around and absorb the scene. Forget the map, just wander…take a left when the mood strikes or a right when something in the distance catches my eye. And with that comes the street art. The city itself is the museum and the buildings the canvas.
Amsterdam has so much embraced street art that a foundation was founded in 2010 – Amsterdam Street Art (ASA) with the ambition to bring Amsterdam to a same level as London, Paris and Barcelona, where street art is already being recognized as a form of art. Each year the foundation invites the best street artists from all over the world to come and join in their annual event.

“The city itself is the museum and the buildings the canvas.” That’s exactly what Astrid and I think every time we visit different cities all over the world, Robin. THAT’S our museum, so we’re definitely on the same page. I was no longer living in Amsterdam in 2010, so this street-art thing is new for me from there. I love that you were able to see it for us!
And of course, your art in Virginia is a thing of beauty all unto itself!
