Last year during my first visit to San Miguel de Allende, my friend Suzan would tell people it would normally take her 15 minutes to walk to the jardin from her house…but, with me? Three hours. So yes, there were lots of photos taken.
This year my goal was to only take photos of what really spoke to me and only if it wasn’t your typical San Miguel capture, or if the lighting provided an interesting twist.
This particular post will be more black/white/grey/subtle and the next post (part 2 of 2) with the vibrant color that San Miguel is known for…but still keeping with my theme.
Any favorites?
Part 2 of 2 coming up!
I think the first photo is very interesting, but my favorite is the room with the staircase. As always, great shots frissy. XoXo
I think that one is my favorite too! Thanks my sweet!
A 3-hour tour? Where have I heard that before? Ha!
All so very interesting, I enjoy the diversity of b&w with the shadowing. I would say #1 is my favorite because I can’t figure out what it is! Some sort of netting but don’t know what all the interesting shaped objects are or why they’re there.
Love all your photos & you!
Xoxo
That was an interesting one Lisa! You’re correct that it is a netting and the pieces are parts of fireworks from various festivals in the jardin! Thank you!
If I can’t choose all of them as favourites, I’d take the last one!
Yes, that one really spoke to me! Thank you!
This is so YOU, Robin, and very inspiring. I say that often, don’t I!
I think the last one is my favorite but I love all of them!!!
Yes, and I so appreciate all of your support and inspiration! As I mentioned to Katrin, that particular one did really speak to me!
Favourites? The second, the fourth and the last!! But then …maybe the sixth? Oh dear- they are all fabulous and I do see why it took 3 hours !
LOL! Thanks always Karen for your feedback and comments! Truly treasured!
I love the picture of the lady at the top of the stairs: so full of mystery and personality at the same time, but you know I always love your photographs, because they reveal such a sensibility and sense of things, and what can be more enjoyable than that
Oh Ducky…you make me blush! Thank you so much!! That one really intrigued me too! It all happened within seconds!
The basketball-field I like, however all of your pictures are very inspiring. Love the last one too, beautiful sculptures.
That basketball-field one really made me giggle! Thank you Astrid!
I love the limits you’ve given yourself. This whole post feels like a beautiful installation 🙂 In part 1 my absolute favorite is the purple & mauves – just gorgeous!
I’m not sure if you’ll be in NYC in April, but if I was, I would be going to this book event http://www.thejealouscurator.com/blog/2014/02/21/a-book-5-years-a-give-away-a-challenge/ & here is the link for the ticket https://www.eventbrite.com/e/creative-block-nyc-book-launch-tickets-10642316455 Wish I could go with you ~ someday 🙂
Thanks Christine! You know how much I adore your work, so receiving comments from you is a real treat! As mentioned in my email, one day we will connect!
Oh, that last one draws me in. Love this whole series, but that one is my favorite.
Thanks Deborah so much for stopping in!
all very, very cool …. I would have really wanted to get the one of the steps with the image at the top.
Thanks Susan! Your comments are so special coming from such as artist as yourself!
Table and stools. The lighting and clean lines does it for me.
Will be in NYC April 2nd, want to go to the book event?
I loved the lighting on that one too! I could’ve spent hours in that building with the lighting…thank you!! See you soon!
Fabulous, every single one.
Thank you Elena!! Your words mean so much to me!
You are sooo talented. These are so good! The second is my favorite. The offering up of something, the textures in the shot, and then how you chose to frame and capture it. Simply divine! Have I mentioned that you’re ridiculously talented?!
Oh, thank you Makeda. I’ve found myself blushing! Seriously!
