Get out your paintbrush…we’re in guanajuato, mexico!
A year ago was my first visit to the area of San Miguel de Allende in Mexico (you can check out some of my posts beginning here…) and it was love at first sight. This return visit provided the opportunity to take a day trip to check out Guanajuato…a city oozing in color, culture and…love.
There’s always a splash of color around every corner…even when you least expect it!
There’s more color to share…so stay tuned!
We’ll have a little more of Guanajuato, a taste of San Miguel de Allende
and then we’ll finish up the Southeast Asia trip by sharing life in Cambodia…
all over the next couple of weeks before I head to Morocco the first of April!

Robin, your images are phenomenal! All that you’ve captured here – the rich, vibrant colors, the textures, the depth in each photo -simply mesmerizing!
gotham girl says
Thanks Mary! It was an amazing treat!

You are a truly well travelled woman…My paintbrush skills are rather limited otherwise I would truly be tempted to go for it.Such vibrant colours ! Love the old woman with her bag-heartbreaking.
And the couple….? Wonderful capture, a little too close to the edge.

I so love traveling and seeing first hand all the varying cultures in our world! Thank you! Yes, that couple scared me to death. But when you’re young…nothing scares you! Right?
Ginnie says
Incredible images, Robin, of this part of your recent world. One of my favorites (besides the “old” woman!) is the 3rd from the top of the city’s overview, with the Jesus statue in the bottom left-hand corner. WOW. Will you be able to catch your breath now before Morocco???
gotham girl says
Thank you dear Ginnie! Catching my breath in the backyard of my home in Arizona…beautiful weather…listening to the birds…and the waterfall. Soooooo nice!

WOW!!! Love, love, love, all that color. Beautiful photos, as always, from you frissy! That couple sitting on the wall are REEEEEAL brave! Makes me scared just looking at them sitting there… 🙂 XoXo
gotham girl says
Oh I so agree frissy! Thank you for all the love!

Wow, wow and wow! What a captivating, spendorous delight for our eyes! Who knew this city existed in Mexico? How do you find these glorious places in the middle of Mexico?
Love every photo, as always. You always capture the essence and vibe of everything you see and feel.
I love the purple blossoming tree in #7. Perhaps a jacaranda? I found out also that they manicure the bushes, Indian Laurels, at the plazas to provide shade over the benches, perfect for people watching.
Such a crowded city but so colorful. What spectacular views. I wonder if there was a platform under the ledge of the couple, although I think I was more envious of her beautiful body than their bravery if there wasn’t a platform!
Of course I love the one of the elderly woman. You always find your lovely older folks (“them”), and their true raw expressive selves.
Love you! XOXO

Dear Robin, you must have the best Karma ever, leading you to all those amazing places!
gotham girl says
Not sure about karma…but a friend who knows what I like! Ha! Thank you Katrin!

What spectacular views… what incredible pictures. The city is like a doodle drawing while you are waiting on the phone. I always draws cubes. What a labyrinth of houses. Just by seeing these pictures and the close-ups (old lady) I know you were in the 7th heaven ( you say ‘on cloud number 9’ )
gotham girl says
And we say 7th heaven too! Thank you so much Astrid. Loved the thought about the doodle drawing!

Much more like paintings, these images are magically composed. Excellent!

Thanks so much Elena! Means so much!
