Where do I even start…I’m in San Miguel de Allende…and for an entire month!
To unplug from the election, to soak in all the creativity that this sweet little town offers, and to celebrate my birthday (new decade!) that just happens to be on a Mexican holiday that I adore…El Día de Muertos…the Day of the Dead.
There will be art classes, getting together with friends, and time to enjoy this amazing home that we’ve rented for the month.
Can’t wait to share more! But in the interim, I’ll be posting snaps on Instagram if you want to follow along!
Adios for now! gg
P.S. I was able to paint another layer on the canvas before I left…and when I get back to Arizona I’ll have to share all about “letting go!”

Cool shot, Robin.
So happy you arrived in Mexico safely and so excited for you to enjoy a month of relaxation, inspiration and celebration of Day of the Dead and your big birthday milestone.
I will celebrate your birthday in my heart and am thankful you were born and make this world a beautiful place.
Can’t wait to see your Instagram updates and your additional layer of art on your canvas.
Enjoy, RR.
Love you. XOXO

Thanks Lisa! It was an interesting start as our luggage was left in Houston, but the good news it was delivered promptly late that night! But all is great here…soaking in all the color and patterns that San Miguel is known for. So appreciate your comments and YOU! xoxo love you too!

Have a beautiful birthday month. You are so smart to get away and stay long enough to really soak in what is there around you. I look forward to seeing what you post on IG. Hugs.

Thanks Ruth! Oh gosh…I was just too consumed in this election process that it was really starting to have an impact on me. All one can do is VOTE and hope for the best outcome. I’ve totally unplugged from the news and just allowing myself to relax and take in all the wonder of San Miguel! Hugs back at ya! xo

Ditto what Ruth has said, Robin!!! We are with our friends south of Georgia who have a Trump/Pence sign at their gate/property entrance. But thank God they’ve had the good sense to not (yet) bring up anything political…at least not while I’m around. Bob brought something up with Astrid yesterday while on their walk with the dog, but she basically acted “dumb.” (sigh) I, too, will be glad when it’s all over.
In the meantime, you have this month to BE and LIVE and DO what it is that makes your heart sing. I, too, look forward to what you will share!

I saw that on Facebook and was wondering how you were handling all those signs in Georgia, ha! This election is just over the top…and one that ALL of us will be glad to see come to an end. As I mentioned to Ruth, I’ve unplugged from the news and reading. I like to educate myself, but found I was getting too caught up in it all. So I’m FREE!! And we will see where the chips fall. So yes, I will BE and LIVE and DO here in San Miguel. ENJOY your time with family and friends. Safe travels too! Hugs to you and Astrid! xo

Happy Birthday, Robin! You’ve given me an inspiring thought – think I’ll start planning my own ‘decade’ birthday gift to myself of an artful retreat. Love the direction your art is taking, both in photography and painting. Always a pleasure for me to have a little glimpse into your world, which like mine, is filled with exuberance.

Thanks Donna! I have SO enjoyed following along on your year’s adventure. Almost daily I shake my head and say to myself…”Yep, I’ve been there. I know exactly how she’s feeling. Yep, I learned that too…” And yes, plan an artful retreat to celebrate your BIRTH DAY! You will find it to be an amazing intro to your new decade. I’m only on day three of being here and next week is the official day…but I’m already feeling the inspiration and just that feeling of letting go and just PlAY!” It’s amazing what it does for the body and soul. Here’s to a world filled with exuberance!!! xo

I love that you have posted this image as a representation of time spent in Mexico! Not the usual vibrant colorful picture you would expect of that land! Makes you think a bit deeper about the subtlety and what is hidden, the stories that are held in those cracks, those walls, those streets…and the life of Nancy, stunning! Have a wonderful birthday. x
