I spend 2 months a year in Mexico. 1 month, I usually go to Mazatlan and hang out at Joe’s Oyster Bar and Gus Y Gus Restaurant. The other month, I travel around by bus. I haven’t had any problems at all. The only people that have problems are the ones that do illegal stuff. There is an increased police presence now which makes it safer. Also, you will notice that there are more police/army checks on the buses, especially heading north. So, if you go and enjoy the food, music, and beaches you shouldn’t have any problems.
