A semla is a round wheat bun with cardamom that is filled with almond paste and whipped cream and decorated with powder sugar. Combine that with a black coffee and a Swedish meringue cookie from Gunnarsons on Götgatan Street, and you’ve got yourself one helluva caffeine sugar buzz for the afternoon! Great primer for happy hour!
The Dutch version would be koffie met apeltaart but you eat it in the morning. An early Happy Hour, then?! 🙂
Can’t wait to taste one of those!
Wow! Shantel would be all over that like a duck on a June bug! Love & Hugs & MORE! GH
Oh I know! xoxo
Ooh, YUMMY!
Thanks Amy for stopping in! Yes, way yummy. Now it’s diet, diet, diet!
WOW…looks absolutely yummy!! Why do the pastries over there look so much better than the ones we have here??
Isn’t that the way it always is? Europe has it going on in the pastry department, and many others in my opinion! Thanks Marcie!
My kind of happy hour. 🙂
