Well…I guess it isn’t every day that my photography graces the cover of an album and I couldn’t be more proud! This was so much fun…traipsing through the desert, hanging out in an old cowboy town, climbing up on the rooftop…yep, that rooftop…all for the perfect image! And we nailed it! You may recall that I blogged about the photo shoot with Trysette earlier this year and I promised more photos once the album was released…so here we are!
You can check out the new album on iTunes or if you’ve subscribed to Apple Music (even better!) then give her a listen, as well as exploring her entire discography! And for one of you lucky souls…I’ve got a free (and signed) CD for you! At the end of this month, if you leave a comment, I’ll pull out a name and mail it to you regardless of where you live! So proud to share in Trysette’s amazing journey!

Well I’m back in my city…working on my rhythms from the sky series and preparing for my week long photography workshop with Peter Turnley. When I say preparing…meaning that I’m scanning the archives for 20 images that represents my portfolio. Oy! There’s so much I can say about Peter…his work has graced the covers of Newsweek more than forty times…but his Facebook posting this week will clearly give you a clue as to why I’m spending a week with this man…
While I was eating breakfast this morning, I was juxtaposing in my mind the notion of hope, the magic and poetry of life, all that is so beautiful to live for, against the realities of the world that reveal hardship, violence, oppression, and ignorance. It isn’t an easy juxtaposition to accept, and a constant that we must all deal with. With modest humility, all that I know, is that life can be so special, and each 24 hours, I’d like to hope that I could contribute to its beauty and wonder in some small way, as a graceful gesture of gratitude for all that this life gives me each day. Wishing everyone a beautiful and blessed day. Peter Turnley

All of these photographs are AMAZING, STUNNING, and BEAUTIFUL… I really don’t know which one I love the best, but I love the idea of putting her song titles on the window of that old rusty truck. Way COOL! Trysette is a beautiful, multi-talented woman, and you brought out even more of her beauty with your photographs. Bro and I are so proud of both of you!!! Love and miss you. XoXo

Gosh…didn’t she do a great job with the design of the CD?! I love it! I’m thrilled that she went with that old truck…you know how I love that kind of stuff…total wabi-sabi! We certainly had a great time, didn’t we? So much fun. Thanks so much! Big hugs to Bro too!

Such a beautiful talent and gorgeous images! You two rocked together and I’m sure you will with Mr.Turnley in his workshops. I’ve been appreciating his Cuba photos on fb for awhile now, very moving and exciting.
Enjoy the week there in your city, making more magic!

We did rock it. We’ve been playing together for about six years now…plus she’s so easy to photograph. But it’s all in being relaxed and loving the camera and she’s a pro at that! Wonderful that you’ve had a taste of Peter’s photography!! It will certainly be an interesting week, for sure! Thanks my dear!! xoxo

Thank you so much for this wonderful post Robbie. Who would have thought all those years ago when we met that we’d do an album shoot! I had the BEST time with you and your “crew” in Arizona and I’m pretty sure the cover shot proves it lol! So so happy with what we achieved. Love you heaps. xoxox

What really great photos Robin! I followed your link to her website and checked out the video….catchy song had me swaying in my seat and I do believe I saw you, camera in hand. Congratulations on an impressive shoot, and do enjoy your photography workshop with Peter Turnley. I’m off to find out about him now….you’re opening my eyes to new things, which is always good!

Isn’t her video adorable? Yep, yours truly is in there quite often, ha! So you got a good feel for the rooftop too! It is a catchy song and so hoping this will be a big break for her. She works hard and has so much passion and even more? A really really good person in her heart. Thanks so much and isn’t it wonderful how we get our eyes opened from each other? Love that!!

Congratulations are in order again, Robin…and again and again. It keeps on happening. All your travels and workshops and friendships are more than paying off!

You bet Ginnie…can’t even begin to explain how fortunate I am to have such wonderful people in my life! Thank you!!!

Wow, I am over-the-moon happy for you! Followed your link and watched the YouTube video of Trysette. LOVE her music and I do think “feel so pretty” will be in my head and on my heart all day long. It absolutely made my day to see you working – taking those pictures – and in your element. You two look so relaxed together and this is why the photos for the album cover are perfect. The pictures convey Trysette’s personal style and make her feel like someone I’d want to know – and sometimes this is just as important as the music – that ability to relate.
Also followed your link for Peter Turnley, and oh my gosh, his photographs are phenomenal! You are going to learn so much and please share your new work here. Already checked hoping that he might teach a workshop in my area, DC, no such luck! Can’t wait see how this experience changes your work – and what you share, I’ll learn, too!
Thanks for fueling my inspiration!

Oh, so happy you found the little video! It’s just pure fun and yes, it really is hard to keep that song out of your head. But one we should play because we all should “feel so pretty!” That’s what I love about that song. Thanks always for your visits and comments…and absolutely…stay tuned as I will most definitely be reporting in about Peter’s class! xo

I remember you mentioning the sessions you had with her last year and all the wonderful pictures you took! She /they chose a great shot and it is YOU who made it. Congratulations! It looks amazing.

So wonderful to see the end product of your post several months ago.
Absolutely wonderful album cover, photo shoot and am in love with the video and song! Celebrating women and their beauty coupled with Trysette’s beautiful and angelic voice and seeing you laughing and shooting was such a special treat. If anyone represents the true beauty of a real woman, it is you, Dear Rooftop Robin!
And to know that that’s “The Roof”!! Totally amused by that, since I thought it was your housetop roof!
Trysette’s talents paired with yours is a perfect harmonious match.
I wish her much success on her album and a wonderful week with for you in Peter’s class. Very excited for both of you on your wonderful endeavors.
Sisterhood
Love you. XOXO

LOL! It is the housetop roof! Meaning my house’s roof top…which can be very scary at times. It helps when you’re a tiny thing like Trysette who is so light on her feet, ha ha! Thanks so much…can’t wait to share all about my week with Peter! Here’s to sisterhood! yeah baby! xoxoxo

Isn’t it amazing how fortunate we all are by meeting all these fabulous people. On the other hand, these fabulous people are also very fortunate to meet us. And I don’t mean this in a snotty way. The more ‘normal’ you are and with both feet on the ground and sincere and don’t want anything from the other one, I think you end up with a group of wonderful people.
Meeting Trysette is one of these wonderful people and you took some fabulous pictures which made her happy and she made you proud to use the picture with the old truck in. What a gift, what a treat. These are the things you (we) all live for, to have a great time ‘together’……..
Love and hugs and enjoy the Big Apple 🙂

So fortunate for sure! And I totally agree with you…nice to be at a point in life where we don’t need anything from anybody…so true! Thank you so much…always enjoy your take on my postings! xoxo
