Not only the largest climate change protest in global history, but comparable in size to the largest anti-Vietnam War protests ever! All ages, all religions, every ethnicity imaginable attended the People’s Climate March in New York City to bring awareness to world leaders attending the United Nations’ summit meeting on climate change. Just to be part of the crowd was overwhelming…even more so during the moment of silence to honor people affected by climate change…to be among 400,000 silent people on the streets of New York? WOW…that dead silence brought chills!
Quoted from an article in the New York Times..I’m here because I really feel that every major social movement in this country has come when people get together. It begins in the streets. I couldn’t agree more and to be part of this march was mind-blowing!

Gotham Girl can always be counted on for the most fantastic images! and of course you were smack in the middle of it all. We felt like the press downplayed this important event so thanks for taking these photos and for talking about the experience.

I was hoping against all hope that you were there, Robin, and YOU WERE! THANK YOU. I wanted to see it through YOUR eyes. To have it compared to the anti-Vietnam War protests brings back so many memories. Maybe every generation needs something like this to knock sense into us all (since we don’t seem to learn from history)????

I would love to have been there it must have been an amazing energising experience, it reminds me of that great native indian quote.
When all the trees have been cut down,
when all the animals have been hunted,
when all the waters are polluted,
when all the air is unsafe to breathe,
only then will you discover you cannot eat money.

I arrived here via Kim Klassen’s Start to Finish class and these unbelievably fantastic street shots were the last thing I expected to find! They will also be the reason to keep me coming back! It will be fun to see what you do with still life!
Wish I was in NYC last weekend for this!

Coming in late on my comments, I cannot express my emotions any better than all of the above from our great group, Team Robin.
To Shooter: What a true and sad emotional native indian quote. Thank you for sharing that, too.
Thank you, my dear Robin for sharing your wonderful experience through your eyes and soul, as only you can and to all our teammates, for your beautifully expressed comments.
