These past few days here in New York have been an overdose of autumn color!
Absolutely mind blowing…
~~~
Starting with the The New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx…
~~~
with a touch of abstract tossed in!
<smile>
~
omg…so totally smitten with this japanese maple…
as well as the 50-acre forest along the banks of the Bronx River…
~
oh…and the Conservatory…
~
oh oh and then there was this most interesting wall…have no idea why it captured me so…
just reminded me of a little girl walking in the forest…
even though it was just cracks and a drain hole.
<twisted mind>
~
and a peak inside the window of the snuff mill turned eatery…
~~~
Hope you’re in the mood for some more!
Cause coming up…I’ve got the Planting Fields Arboretum in Long Island, New York
and of course color in my own backyard…Central Park…
Happy Autumn!
Absolutely beautiful I’m with you on the japanese maple, the colours are lush, the first shot with the leaf on the post is outstanding.
Autumn at it’s best. Absolutely love the abstracts, the japanese maple, the single leaf and the forest. I love the way you see the little girl in the cracks of the drainhole.
Ah, I love your mind and eye.
Love the lighting in the last one, too.
All so beautiful.
Thanks for sharing, can’t wait to see LI.
You know I’m gonna say this…but THIS is why autumn is my favorite time of the year. I love your abstracts and the “twisted mind” that came up with that girl walking in the forest (I see her, too!), but it’s the Japanese maple, yes, that smites me, too. We had one in Atlanta, so I know how awesome they are.
Happy Autumn is right here, FABULOUS pictures what a colours ans the ‘zooms-in-fast-while-taken-picture’ are a delight. I tried that too looong time ago…..
BUT the effect is fabulous. A delight as ever.
Hugs and love,
Astrid.
Color explosions, literally! I always thought of visiting NYC in spring or summer, but maybe it must be fall! Or during all four seasons?
Susan says
Splendid! I’ve always loved the japanese maple, too, and I see that little girl there in the forest.
The fall spectrum of colors has been amazing. In just a couple of weeks, a lot of this beauty will be gone as the winter chill sets in for good.
