[…] * Hampton Jitney bus service from Manhattan via the North Fork Line to East Marion.  Cost is $19 each way.  A good portion of your day is on the bus, mainly getting in and out of Manhattan due to traffic congestion.  But there’s wi-fi connection, comfy seats, a bottle of water and a snack included, and nice people operating the bus.  Entrance to the lavender fields is $8, but you can apply that to any purchase from their open air gift shop.  You can pick your own which is highly recommended to get the full appreciation of what goes on to harvest the lavender.  Also, there are a few picnic tables around on the farm too.  What more could you ask for in a field trip?
