A good friend of mine recently told me what she loved about my blog is you never know what you’re gonna get. Well I guess today is a good example of that! After sketching drag queens and photographing naked cyclists, one may be surprised that today’s post is about attending church.
You see my father has Alzheimer’s, but he still understands and loves to go to church every Sunday. It so amazes me when he sings and knows most of the lyrics when many times he can’t remember what happened five minutes earlier. Interesting how the brain works. That’s why I never miss the chance to attend church with my parents while visiting the farm! Precious times, just precious.

My mother has Alzheimer’s too, I share your amazement at what information the brain keeps and what it lets go of.

Lovely, Robin. Reminds me of aromatherapy and Alzheimer’s. Sometimes it provokes memory, too. Thank you for sharing. As you know, I am especially emotionally moved by your photos and stories of dad. Hope he enjoyed his birthday. xoxo
