This is an ongoing series on Saturdays showcasing my wabi-sabi find of the week.
What is wabi-sabi?
For some strange reason I’ve always been intrigued with locks…so it’s no surprise that I’m totally taken with the locks of love that you often see throughout the world of couples and friends expressing their love. I read that the tradition may have originated in China long the paths leading to sacred peaks. The tradition seems to be spreading…have you seen them in your city?

I can’t tell you how much I’m loving your Wabi-Sabi Saturdays, Robin. Almost every day now I’ll see something and immediately say “wabi-sabi.” I love it.
And yes, there’s something about old, rusty locks. I just asked Astrid if she knows of any place here in the Netherlands where love-locks are hung. She doesn’t know of any. It would be fun to find a group of couples and start such a thing…like in Amsterdam, at a favorite tourist spot. 🙂

I’ve never seen any love locks around my area but I read that in Italy they are cracking down on them and people are getting fined because the locks are causing damage to aging building structures…Love your photo & you MORE!

Yes, I’ve read that too! I did notice some starting on the Brooklyn bridge. We’ll have to check that out in May! Yippee!!
