These look like cookies I’ve been on the hunt for since going to Morocco a few years ago. I only remember seeing them in Fez. To me, they had an almond or peanut-butter taste to them, but I don’t recall any coconut. Also they were not crunchy at all. Does this sound like the same thing (maybe I just didn’t notice the coconut), and do you have any more info on these – perhaps where they can be found in the US or, better yet, a recipe on how to make them?

There was an almond taste for sure…but these were crunchy! Haven’t come across anything like them since!
