When I get where I’m going
on the far side of the sky…
The first thing that I’m gonna do
Is spread my wings and fly.
As my sister released a white dove, these lyrics from the service continued to play in my head.
This week I’m in Virginia with my family to mourn the loss of a daughter, a sister, and an icon to many surgeons, nurses and friends from her work at Carilion, a large medical center here in the Roanoke valley.
Thank you Dr. Zellen for asking to participate at her service to share what an impact she had on your life and so many others on a daily basis as a nurse and friend in the Operating Room Services department. As family, we often don’t know and appreciate the significance one has in their work. Her job was her life and it was truly evident from the outpouring of wonderful comments from all who worked with her.
This is how I want to remember you sis… the sweetness from this photo. May you rest in peace.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.
