Count me as one of about two million people with a New York City library card. Each time I visit this incredible Beaux-Arts style building, I’m in awe.
This particular visit was prompted by the showing, Recollection: Thirty Years of Photography. I will never tire of viewing photographs by Dorothea Lange or Henri Cartier-Bresson. Nor will I tire of just soaking up the interior, especially on the third floor with its ornate ceiling murals and large arched panels. Can you believe the main reading room is the size of a football field with 18 chandeliers? Impressive.
Oh, and expect to have your bags searched as you enter and leave the building, no flash photography and be QUIET.
You are going to be a fantastic writer
Nikki, you’re so sweet! Thanks for posting!
Couldn’t help but notice the ubiquity of electronics among all the paper-based volumes ….
Very much what I love about this library. Thanks for posting!
