What immediately comes to your mind when you think of Ireland? Well, for me? It’s green and it’s beer. You’ll find green sprinkled throughout my upcoming Dublin posts…so let’s start with beer. Never a huge beer lover, but that all changed on my trip to Belgium last year. However, dark beers are not my favorite. I’m a Stella, Pilsner kinda gal. So to experience my first Guinness…well it had to be on the rooftop at the Guinness Storehouse with a 360 degree view of Dublin…at sunset. Yes, I have requirements.
Did I like it? Yes. Is it my favorite? I could get used to it. But with 360 degree views, a hazy reflective sunset, a perfectly poured Guinness (there is an art to it)…what’s not to like?! The tour and facility is first class and a great introduction to brewing Guinness, as well as understanding the importance Guinness places on their family of employees. Did you know that in 1876 Guinness became one of the first businesses in Ireland to provide proper pensions and healthcare for its employees and their families? Enough said.
Sláinte!
Tales of the city…only this time the city is Dublin…Just like sharing my love for New York City…there’s the love of sharing images and thoughts about other cities and countries as well. Perhaps my travel experience and images will inspire you to visit too, but if that isn’t possible at the moment…sit back and let me bring Dublin, Ireland to you…
Those pictures are just fabulous. I love the one with the steeple. Great view. And for the beer, I have to get one to have an opinion, I am not a beer drinker either…… 🙂
Thanks always Astrid!
I’m loving this tour of Ireland. Thanks frissy. XXOO
I thought of you and Bro so often! xoxo
I am not a beer girl by any means yet who could say no to such views? Beautiful, thank you Robin 🙂
So true Anyes! Thank you!
I have become a beer drinker since living in Europe, Robin, and probably will “never” say NO to a beer, if offered one. I could REALLY REALLY get used to Guinness, seriously. HA! I’ll have to go find one here in the Netherlands, just so I don’t forget it. 🙂
How fun to see Ireland through YOUR eyes. My time was short and sweet but I’ll never forget it!
So enjoyed our time together! At one of the pubs…the bartender said…it’ll never taste the same outside of Ireland! Probably true!
Gorgeous rooftop bar … I really dig your requirements ~ That’s where I want to have my first Guiness, too!
Love that city image, so soft & moody & beautiful!
Thanks so much Susan!! Like minds!

I am more into red wine but might be tempted if I would be on that rooftop! Lovely view over the city – great!
Oh me too…well any kind of wine actually, ha ha! Thank you!
