Amazing how we can educate ourselves by taking a couple of minutes to look at the detail, to look up a word…
I’m always intrigued with the various water vessels moving up and down the Hudson. I use the binoculars to look for a name, yes I’m nosey that way, in hopes to learn it’s some rich tycoon meandering down the Hudson.. So today it was Casulo.
Found out it’s a portuguese word meaning cocoon. Further research revealed that Casulo is often called a magic box, a mobile furniture box containing an entire apartment’s worth of furniture (desk, bed, mattress, armoire, stool and bookcase) inside the modest confines of a 47” x 35” x 31” box. Now that’s an interesting concept.
Hmm…who would’ve thunk? A perfect name!
(I realize this isn’t a good photo, but it was the best I could capture and it helps with the post.)
