It’s amazing how one thing leads to another…
From the Gotham Den I’m always watching the tugboats working on the river. They are the lifeblood of commerce along the Hudson. These work horses serve the same purpose today that they did a century ago.
Today, the cutest baby blue tugboat caught my eye. So I decided to get a closer look using the binoculars. Tugboat Cheyenne. I googled this lovely name and found out all kinds of info! Such as an upcoming tugboat tour, The Hidden Harbor Tour, scheduled for August 17th. Hmm…What will one learn on this tour? According to the website: “How the working harbor really works and what all those ships and tugs do, why shipping is the most green way to get goods into the region, how your Toyota, TV or pair of sneakers got here, what we export, and more.”
And guess what? There’s the 18th annual tugboat parade and race to be held on September 5th.
By the way, Tugboat Cheyenne has been working hard since 1965 and she recently received a makeover, from red to baby blue.
I see activities in my future!
