If you have ever walked along Broadway to Times Square you know how crazy it is with hoards of sightseers and traffic jams. Well an experiment to close 5 blocks of Broadway to traffic is trying to change all of that. Now we have people lounging and sunning (OK it has only rained 23 of the last 26 days!) in 350 beach chairs provided by the local business owners’ association. The reports so far sounds like it’s a success. I love the new atmosphere, but then again, I’m not driving! Love the new atmosphere in front of Macy’s.
How weird to see people lounging in the middle of the street. We suburbianites do not have any idea of what it is like city living. Wow, what an experience. We walked that area when we were in NYC a few years ago. What I love about going in August is that you will be familiar with the city. Can’t wait/
