I love free. The Rubenstein Atrium is a new addition to my hood. A transformation of an underutilized, indoor space into a welcoming and vibrant community gathering place to linger and enjoy with plenty of places to sit to use their free wi-fi service. Two 21 feet high vertical gardens with a variety of living plants to create a garden type setting…ahhhh…oxygen at its finest. Last night I attended the Target Free Thursdays, a series of free weekly performances, sponsored by Target, drawn from local arts organizations as well as from Lincoln Center’s acclaimed resident organizations. Great performance by Jaliya Kafo showcasing a stringed musical instrument of West African origin, a kora. Interesting, built from a large goard, cut in half and covered with cow skin. Fun! Love love love free stuff.
