This was my first visit to Pasha and I wasn’t disappointed. I will absolutely return, in fact I plan to go there during the holidays. I can’t wait to see the glow of the red walls, experience more of their menu, and hope that I wasn’t dreaming about the fabulous service that was received on my first visit.
Ambiance:
I’d seen this restaurant numerous times but was never impressed with the outside, so it wasn’t on my radar to check out. After reading other reviews, it seemed worth a try. Walking to the dining room you will pass through the bar area with wooden floors, turkish rugs and upholstered chairs. The walls were red making the green plants greener. Cozy, warm, inviting. You would think you were in a family room in someone’s home. (I will definitely come back just to spend time in the bar area.) I say all of that, but keep in mind I LOVE Turkish/Morrocan themes. You may not. There was a little bit of a let down entering the dining room, but after sitting for a bit I really liked the contrast between the two rooms. The dining room was simple, not so much of a warm feeling initially, with poinsettias located throughout. Since I LOVE lighting my only complaint would be that someone failed to light the two big candles in the middle of the room and the lights could have been a little dimmer. Yes, I’m picky when it comes to ambiance. To me, ambiance is a no-brainer.
Food:
The gemlik olives (I only know they were gemliks because I asked) and crusty bread when you first arrive was all it took to hook me in. The humus was OK, not as good as expected, but the appetizer Mucver, zucchini and dill pancakes with creamy yogurt that dissolves in your mouth, was divine. The entrees came out a little too fast, but after that first bite of swordfish, anything could have happened at that point and it wouldn’t have mattered. Perfect. I rarely have dessert, but since visiting Istanbul just a few months ago, I was eager to compare the baklava. Not only “melt in your mouth” baklava, but with a dollop of whip cream along with a cup of hot apple tea. Icing on the cake.
Service:
Eduardo, a six year employee with Pasha, was our waiter. He was attentive, extremely personable with a very charming smile. He knew exactly when to approach the table and when not to. He went out of his way to get more information about those gemlik olives I fell in love with…more icing on the big cake.
