The fall colors teased me and staying focused on completing some laps on my bike was difficult, as “the pool” in central park kept urging me to STOP! Take pictures of me!
I sat down on a park bench just to absorb the beauty. Beside of me a young gal was reading a book and looked up about the time I sat and said, “Hi, isn’t this incredible?” I could tell right away she had to be Scandinavian and sure enough she said, “I’m Penny from Denmark.”
For about an hour we chatted and talked all about her USA impressions as she had been on the trip for 64 days and was spending her final week in New York City before heading home. She just finished her college and will apply for jobs as a middle school teacher. So impressive. Those kids will be so lucky to have her. We talked about everything. Politics, healthcare, taxes, elderly, young people, middle age people. So wonderful to hear all about how Denmark operates. We could have talked for hours, but she needed to sit, read and enjoy. I on the other hand needed to burn some calories.
But I couldn’t leave “the pool” without taking a few photos…
Then on my final lap I had to stop to view the artist’s work…
And I just LOVED her shoes!

I ran by that woman painting in the park that day too! Funny.
