Exploring in Chinatown, I came across this amazing mural in an alleyway off of Market Street. While taking in the art, this guy walks past and for a second his colors blended enough for me to think of the Chinese artist Liu Bolin. Bolin is also known as the Invisible Man for his world renowned camouflage art. His work (and that of his two assistants) is amazing. Check out this video to see them in action in his Hiding in New York series. So fun!
So a mental note was made to see if Bolin had a current exhibit going on and guess what? Yep, right here in NYC at the Eli Klein Fine Art gallery in Soho. Showing until July 21st…gotta go see this!

“i went for a walk and this is what i found…”
Wow, that’s amazing how that man does blend right into the mural. I didn’t even notice him until I took a second look after I read your post. Way cool! XXOO MORE!
Thank you! xoxo
What amazing colours. It is brilliant that you introduce me to so many things. I am seriously thinking of appointing you as my Ambassador to Culture.
CD, picture me totally cracking up!
Great shot – the colours are amazing!
Thanks! And thanks Lynne for stopping in!
You managed a great picture here! Such wonderful colours ,just love it!
It happened so fast and I wanted him positioned in the blue area…so just barely captured him! Thank you!
very cool camouflage
Thank you! I was wanting him positioned in the blue area of the mural, so just barely! Thank you!
Great shot! The wall art is wonderful by itself, but the man passing by really adds to the image.
Thanks PJ. I think so too! Appreciate you stopping in!
You always capture the most amazing places with your camera. Blessings!
Thank you always for your wonderful comments Arnoldo!
such great artistry!! awesome contribution!!
Thanks Robin! It was one of those…at the right place at the right time!
I love how the man is holding the cup with his teeth. I wonder if he even noticed you taking a picture.
Me too Debbie. I was in an alleyway and when I saw him coming I soooo wanted to stop him and have him pose like the artist Bolin…but he seemed on a mission and in a hurry. Being it was an alleyway and only us two…I didn’t pursue it. He was so wrapped in his world it’s doubtful. Had it been on a street with others then absolutely I would’ve tried to talk with him.
Love the colorful mural that you’ve captured so nicely!
Thank you!
WOWSER. That’s the first time I’ve heard of him, Robin, or seen his work. So very cool. I sure hope he/they make a pretty penny for all their effort!
Let’s hope so!
What a brilliant find! I will check out your links, thanks and thank you for visiting me
Thank you Miriam!
