Just a little interruption to Cambodia…
The photos from the Chihuly In the Garden exhibition
at the Desert Botanical Garden here in Phoenix, Arizona were just shouting…
show me, show me!
Dale Chihuly has led the avant-garde in the development of glass as fine art, in addition to being a master of interior design. This year Chihuly has returned to the Desert Botanical Garden with an exhibition that will just knock your socks off! Read more about him here and more about the details of this installation here. With the desert in full bloom, the timing was absolutely A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
And then of course one has to play!
Cambodia…coming up…unless something else spectacular happens!

So, so, beautiful! I have seen some of these displays at the DBG and they always amaze me too. But you, frissy, have once again, brought this work to life right on the page of your blog… Thank you so much for sharing. xoXo

Chihuly has never never never looked so good, Robin. I have seen his work in person at the Atlanta Botanical Garden and can totally attest to his incredible craftsmanship. But YOUR art in displaying him is beyond spectacular! WOW!

Thank you Ginnie! I had so much fun there…could’ve spent days photographing! 🙂

Wow. Looking at these I almost felt as if I was wandering on another planet. What an imagination, and what an eye you have to capture it in such detail. Lovely as always

Thanks Ducky! I’ve never experienced an installation such as this! And yes, it was like being on another planet. You always find the right words! 🙂

These are wonderful and would look great as wall art, the vibrancy of colours is lush.

Thanks shooter! I so appreciate it. I’ve yet to decorate the walls in my NYC apartment, so you’ve given me an idea on some wall art. Thanks!!

I’ve seen his work first at the Bellagio and then at the Borgata and I really didn’t care for it.
I absolutely love your photos, they are beautiful and changed my mind about his work.
My goodness, not only do you bring out the best in people and natural landscapes but also inanimate objects!

I am right there with you. I’ve seen his work throughout the world, but it never really captured me the way this installation did. Perhaps it’s my love of the desert, the total bloom of the desert and these magnificent pieces in very unexpected places that just did it for me! Thank you always for visiting! xo

Wonderful photos! My husband and I were at the Chihuly exhibition in Seattle a couple of years ago; I had never imagined what amazing things could be done with glass. I’m signing up so as to see your Cambodia postings – we’ve just come back from a visit there (our 4th), this time on a dedicated bird watching trip. Amazing country, wonderful people – we love it!

Hi Chris! Thanks so much for your note and dropping in on my blog. I’ll send you a personal note via email – so want to learn more about your Cambodia trips. Thinking of a return trip and would love to get your thoughts!

– Well done! I went at night this last weekend and it was PACKED and nraley impossible to take pictures. Yours are gorgeous. Love that last one. I know exactly where that was (right behind a little wall in between the garden are with all the glass art and the area w/ all the hanging glass art). Right?Btw, Tempe Camera is totally within spitting distance of there. April 10, 2009 12:49 pm
