L'Ecole

I felt so urban…picture me on Spartan (my around town bike) making my way down the west side bikeway into Soho. Flowing t’shirt, capri jeans and wedge heels. Destination: dinner with a group at L’Ecole, the French Culinary Institute at the International Culinary Center.

Food was mediocre as I’ve been spoiled with having some of the best chefs in my life (such as Chef Bob and Chef Ezequiel to name a couple) and the attention to detail needed improvement (I should teach a class on presentation and service) but the icing on the cake? A Riesling flight. Yum. Yum. Fell in love with a 2008 Alfred Merkelbach Urziger Wurzgarten. You gotta love the description…a racy, juicy wine with some delicate springtime blossom and spiced apple. It is opulent yet refined. Need I say more?

Lesson learned? Remember next time to bring a light for my bike.
