Where’s the best place for viewing Macy’s 4th of July fireworks spectacular in MY city? You guessed it! What a heck of a benefit for moving to the Hudson, as apartment 18J will have some unbelievable views without having to leave the comforts of the gotham den.
As I continued to unload boxes today (how does one accumulate so much STUFF in one year??) I watched some folks position themselves already (and it’s only Wednesday) for the mile-long extravaganza on the Hudson. I’m sure over the next couple of days it will look like a parking lot of boats and yachts. Even a major portion of the West Side Highway will be closed in anticipation of the crowds.
This is only the second year the 26-minute display will be held over the Hudson River instead of the East River. (Sorry east-siders!) Fireworks will be set off from six anchored barges starting around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday. Even NBC will broadcast a prime time special. You gotta love this city!

When I fist moved to NYC oh so long ago…..the fireworks used to be on the Hudson River. Then I think some folks complained about NJ getting to see them, but not Queens and Brooklyn, etc. so they moved them. I am so glad they are back on the Hudson.
