Beautiful day with a very dear friend! Near her house is South Mountain Park, nearly 17,000 acres of desert mountain preserve. We took the scenic 5.5. mile drive to Dobbins Point which is 2,330 feet, the highest point in the park. Breathtaking views overlooking the city of Phoenix and surrounding communities. So peaceful with a nice breeze blowing…we could have stayed for hours.
Loved our lunch at The Farm at South Mountain. Ordered and then found a picnic table in the cool shade under huge pecan trees. (Reminded me of the area in Central Park with the huge elm trees as you make your way to the Bethesda Terrace via the mall.) We finished off our time together with a huge spread of hors d’oeuvres and a nice bottle of Gruet.
All of that topped off with a glass of malbec at an adorable wine bar with another dear friend before I headed home! Nothing better than dear friends, good wine, perfect weather and beautiful scenery! Thanks to you both for making my day PERFECT!
