Located right off Fifth Avenue and Central Park South in Manhattan, across from the Plaza Hotel…a little park called the Grand Army Plaza, the home of the Roman Goddess…Pomana. How many times have I walked by this area and never really paid attention to the statue, much less to learn the meaning of it. But just a couple of days ago, heading to the Easter Parade, the statue was surrounded by the full bloom of the ornamental pear trees…calling for our attention…as if she was telling everyone…Hey…Look at me! Look at me! And I did. And I now know that Pomana is the goddess of fruit trees, orchards and gardens…so appropriate…
This post is dedicated to Earth Day…a day to encourage respect for our Earth…giving us continued opportunities to view the amazing beauty that constantly surrounds us throughout this world.
And speaking of more amazing beauty that constantly surrounds us…

Oh WOW frissy, spring in Central Park looks spectacular! And yes, if I saw all those beautiful flowers from the pear trees around the statue of Pomana, I would for sure want to stop and take a closer look. Great shots as always frissy. Happy Earth Day to you too. XoXo
