There’s so much to share…there will be lots of posts to catch you up on all the incredible events over the past few weeks!
But, not thinking you’d want to see Halloween around Thanksgiving, I’ll begin by sharing some of my favorites from THE Halloween Parade. The Village Halloween Parade in its 40th year – the nation’s most wildly creative public participating event in the greatest city of the world. (Yep, that be my city.)
This was my first time!
Did I participate? Yes and no. Yes, I was in costume, but did not “march” in the parade. Instead, decided to get there early which turned out to be a little too early. And what does one do with extra time? Yep, just so happened to find a Russian bar directly behind the stake out. And, you know what Russian bar’s have, right?
So there were two lessons learned here. One, get there early unless you want to be standing behind 5 rows of people. But not too early…unless you want to spend lots of money in a Russian bar. Two, people in the parade are much more giving of their time when the photographer is dressed up as well. So if you like taking photos, dress up! You’ll have them eating out of your hand…
So with that being said…some of my favorites from the night…it was hard to pick just a few! (Taking photos at night with no flash (because I don’t like flash) is not easy! So I hope you like lots of grain in your black & white photos!)

Hope you had a fun and safe Halloween!

I was hoping like the dickens you’d show us YOU all dressed up, so THANK YOU. I laughed out loud at Grab and Go (your comment, that is) and at the one whose make-up was cracking up. What fabulous images, GG! You are such pure delight as you are or all dressed up with somewhere to go. 🙂

Absolute fabulous post again. Leave it to you and you turn up with the best pictures. Love your outfit. Being one of the crowd adds to the fun.

Astrid was the one who told me my comment didn’t take, so I’ll try it again!
I just LOVE that you show us snippets of all these events in your great city, Robin. Of COURSE you would dress up…and I was hoping like the dickens you would show us what YOU looked like. THANK YOU. I actually laiughed out loud over your “grab and go” comment. HA! I think the cracked-up make-up face is my favorite of them all…after yours, that is. 🙂

Almost felt I was there. Halloween is not nearly so big in the UK but I feel the excitement shimmering through the post. Just looks like a great party

I LOVE the grain and the black and white. I don’t miss color at all here. In fact the bl &wh lends a gravity that allows us to see All of the image and not be seduced by the surface. Marvelous!

Dear Robin,
I’ve got goose bumps all over. Your portraits are just perfect. I have no idea how you do it, but each photo is stunning, touching, perfect in terms of composition and light … wow.
