Growing up, in the mornings, my dad would always turn on the light and say “Rise and Shine!” “Time to get up!” So the exact thought immediately came to mind as I passed this man sleeping in Central Park one early morning as I made my way over to the East Side of Manhattan.
But I thought perhaps, just perhaps, he might not be a morning person. I’m sure I made the right decision.

My dad would say the exact same thing to me when he turned on the light to wake me up as well. Then, once I was up, dressed and out in the kitchen, he would always say “Mornin Glory”. Funny what we remember…

Isn’t it amazing what we remember! When I’m in Virginia we still say..”Good night! Don’t let the bed bugs bite!” to each other! I just love it! xoxo

Well, blow me over…we all said that “good night, don’t let the bed bugs bite” thing every night to each other all the years I was growing up too. It was “almost” like a scene out of the Walton’s…I “used” to love it too SS…

Such a powerful..evocative image. And – yes – good that you let him sleep!
