Today is a day to relax and enjoy a leisurely breakfast with the Sunday paper; The Sunday Times of India. Oh, how interesting. One section in particular, the Sunday Matrimonials. It gives a whole new perspective on classifieds of men looking for women and women looking for men. How about parents looking for a bride or groom for their son or daughter?
First off, I learned a new word today. Seems Indian men prefer wheatish complexions in their women meaning neither dark skinned nor light-skinned. Since the term dark skinned has a negative connotation, women use the term wheatish complexion in the advertisements to describe their skin color.
How about the family looking for a good looking, wheatish, educated, cultured, and HOMELY girl? Or a bride that can’t conceive? Or the family looking for a bride whose son has a handsome package?
